Youth Entry Level Skills (YELS)

The YELS program was developed in 2001 to offer Beaufort-Delta youth the opportunity to learn career-oriented skills and gain experience in authentic workplaces.

Major components of the program include the following:

• Mobile Introduction to Trades Training (MITT)
• Tools for Schools
• Oil and Gas Awareness
• Introduction to Mining

Beaufort-Delta students gain hands-on type experience in mining, oil and gas, welding, plumbing, metal fabrication, building construction, woodworking, and electrical systems.
